Fair Usage Policy
Fibre To The Ground (FTTG)
Last updated: 8 January 2026
- Purpose
The Fair Usage Policy (“FUP”) is designed to ensure fair, responsible, and equitable access to Fibre To The Ground (“FTTG”, “we”, “us”, “our”) network resources for all customers. This policy aims to:
- Maintain consistent network performance.
- Prevent excessive usage by a small number of users from impacting others.
- Protect the overall stability and reliability of the FTTG network.
- Scope of Application
This Fair Usage Policy applies to:
- All FTTG internet packages • All customers, whether residential, business, or commercial.
- All devices and applications connected via the FTTG network The FUP operates in conjunction with the Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy.
- Fair Usage Principles
FTTG reserves the right to manage network traffic in a fair, reasonable, and proportionate manner in order to:
- Prevent network congestion and service degradation.
- Ensure consistent service quality across the network.
- Maintain network integrity and operational stability Traffic management practices are applied objectively and are not intended to unfairly disadvantage any specific user or service.
- Excessive or Abnormal Usage
Usage may be regarded as excessive, abnormal, or unfair where it:
- Significantly exceeds average usage patterns for similar services.
- Results in sustained high-bandwidth consumption during peak periods.
- Negatively affects the experience of other users.
- Is inconsistent with the intended use of the subscribed service Such usage may occur whether intentionally or unintentionally.
- Network Management Measures
Where excessive or abnormal usage is identified, FTTG may implement reasonable network management measures, including but not limited to:
- Temporary speed shaping or rate limiting.
- Bandwidth throttling during peak usage periods.
- Traffic prioritisation to support essential or latency-sensitive services.
- Short-term usage restrictions where necessary to protect the network These measures are generally temporary and aimed at restoring fair access.
- No Fixed Usage Thresholds
FTTG does not apply fixed or predefined usage caps under this Fair Usage Policy. Fair usage thresholds are dynamic and may vary depending on:
- Network capacity and demand.
- Time of day (peak vs off-peak periods).
- Overall network performance and conditions As a result, fair usage limits may change without prior notice.
- Customer Transparency
FTTG endeavours to apply this Fair Usage Policy transparently and reasonably. Where practical, customers may be notified if their usage patterns are likely to trigger network management measures. Customers are encouraged to contact FTTG support if they have questions regarding usage or network performance.
- Relationship to Other Policies
This Fair Usage Policy forms part of the broader FTTG policy framework and should be read together with:
- Terms of Use.
- Acceptable Use Policy.
- Service Availability and Limitations.
- Amendments
FTTG reserves the right to amend this Fair Usage Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the FTTG website and become effective upon publication. Continued use of FTTG services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
